Interface IConnectedApplication

Namespace
Fdyay.IdentityServer.Models
Assembly
Fdyay.IdentityServer.Core.dll

The application a protocol request is being served for.

public interface IConnectedApplication

Remarks

Handed to profile services in place of the whole Client. What a profile service legitimately needs is the identity of the caller it is enriching claims for; the client's secrets, lifetimes and redirect URIs are none of its business, and passing them invites a profile service to take a dependency on configuration it should not be reading.

Client implements this, so a caller that already holds a client can pass it directly and the constructor overloads that take one keep working.

Properties

Description

A description of the application, or null. Duende's; read by nothing here, as by nothing in Duende.

string? Description { get; }

Property Value

string

DisplayName

A name for the application to show a user, or null when the registration carries none.

string? DisplayName { get; }

Remarks

The interactive pages are shared between protocols and each has to say which application is waiting. The identifier is the wrong thing to show for that: a SAML entity id is a URI, and a client id is whatever the registration happens to use as a key. Null rather than a fallback to the identifier, so a page can decide for itself whether to name an unnamed application or say nothing.

Enabled

Whether the application is enabled. Duende's.

bool Enabled { get; }

Property Value

bool

Identifier

Identifies the application — the client id, for an OAuth client.

ProtocolType

The protocol it speaks: IdentityServerConstants.ProtocolTypes. Duende's.

Property Value

RequireConsent

Whether the user is asked to consent before it is answered. Duende's.
